Give me a break. We're not talking about and ounce of weed here. How many people would have died from all that crap? And if he is too "medded up" to see how BAD the act was, do we need him in this world anyway?

Good job China. SOME trafficking will slow due to the news getting out. Heck, they can ALWAYS come to America. If WE catch them, they get free room and board with cable TV for a few years.

He is getting what he deserves. China does not play games. I am glad they are doing this. Families say these people are okay to be around. When they do something wrong. They claim mental illness. DO NOT LET THEM OUT IN PUBLIC.

while this is a sad ending, understand that the chinese government probably has weighed the consequences for the different options to make its choice. It cannot send a message to tolerate drug smuggling, it cannot set an example that being "foreign" or "mentally ill" can be exempted from the law or else, the drug dealers will follow case again in the future. The REAL bad guy here is not the chinese government, it's the drug dealers who preyed on and took advantage of a mentally ill man to carry out crimes. Look beyond the tone of this passage and the "drug dealers" are the ones the british government, the chinese government, the family of the victims and you should be angry at.

It's funny all the articles chose NOT to mention Opium War. If you know the history of opium war, you understand why the Chinese has such a strict law on drug. It's also funny how they declare the mental illness: because of what his family said. Are you freaking kidding me? If you delivered 9lbs of drug to a country that is strictly against it, you should be prepared for the punishment. Period.
